Not sure you care but if it was your primary residence and you lived in it at least 2 out of 5 years any gain, and it sounds like a loss to me, is excluded from income.

The is also a code section, I think 982, that excludes the 1099C income if it was on your primary residence.

You should consult a COMPETENT tax preparer if you paid tax on the money.

If you used TURBO tax to perpare your return you probably missed that part of the code section.

Bank of America has just told a fire arms manufacturing company that has done business with the bank for 12 years that they no longer want their business becauses they make guns. BofA has exposed itself as an opponent of the 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms, and American freedom. If you support the 2nd Amendment and freedom and have an account or do any business with BofA you should cease those relationships and tell BofA why.

Bank of America is the biggest bunch of crooks ever. they pre approved me for a home loan, after they got my $520.00 they turned me down, now i can't get my money back. Tom Davis acts loke he wants to help but just a big crook like the others. Joni from Cincinnati is the biggest crook on my account, first i needed to show that i had $900.00 for closing, when i showed that, it wasn't enough i needed $1300.00 when i showed that, i needed $1500.00, when i showed that i needed $2000.00 when i showed that is when i un approved, the letter stated i didn't have enough money to close. so now i'm out $520.00, anyone know what i can do?

How do the "people" running Bank of America live with themselves? PEOPLE are making the decisions that are blighting Bank of America! After a failed economy brought about by Wall Street and the banks brought us down financially, this Bank's employees absolutely refused to work with me to help me save my home (and my life savings), but had no problem short-selling my home for a fraction of its value (and my investment) and this is AFTER they received billions in taxpayers' bailout money. All these lawsuits and settlements don't do a damn thing for those of us who had our homes STOLEN out from under us by this bank! Anybody who deals with this institution can expect underhanded, dishonest, outright thievery! You're crazy to keep any money in this bank, much less mortgage your HOME with it!

My wish would be for Bank of America to pay back my mother for the transmissions purchased in Ohio and the Pizzas purchased in Michigan on her first debit card before the card was delivered to her in Seattle. They said the 6 month time frame that had passed prevented them from helping her. It was obviously an inside job as multiple purchases were made BEFORE she had possession of her card. Her old bank had not made a mistake in over 40 years so her fault for trusting Bank of America I guess. Maybe they could at least give us our name back.
